Lent 2024 - Day 3 - Examine Ourselves

While praying today, it struck me afresh that fasting is an issue of Christ's Lordship. He said His disciples "will fast" and many Christians do NOT fast. Not just not sometimes, but many professing Christians have never fasted once. And that is an indictment on the quality of discipleship. 

And since He expected we would fast (and yes, there is a diversity of the practice of fasting - times, duration), then a disciple not fasting means that an area/aspect of their lives is not under the Lordship of Christ.
