encountering God as we 'rested in Christ'

Last night was powerful. A group of us gather to seek the Lord weekly and the meeting began with a heightened level of expectation. Isaac of Ninevah led us in a powerful teaching based out of Greg Boyd's book, "Seeing is Believing" (a book about how we can encounter God, hear from God, receive healing as we learn to, as Boyd calls it, 'Rest in Christ'). Throughout the evening many prophetic experiences were had - as we corporately were positioning ourselves for Resting in Christ, the Lord opened up many different pictures, visions and spoke clearly to many in the room. One Indian sister had her very first visionary experience (part of her Acts 2 inheritance!). I know I can get very focused on the 'gifts' that God releases to His children (or anything God is doing for that matter). As we all positioned ourselves to simply 'rest in Christ', it was ALL about connecting with God and encountering Him personally. Intimacy with Him was the focus.

"spilling" while we're out - the K of G comes

Last night and today, Desert Princess and I have had some opportunties to pray for people when we were out and the Lord touched a couple of people. In a restaurant yesterday, after I got a word of knowledge for a back condition, Desert Princess asked the server if she had that problem. She did. Desert Princess asked if she could pray and the woman agreed. After prayer all the pain was gone from her back. Today while out again, I got a couple of words of knowledge while passing a mobile phone shop. I asked one of the employees if he had the conditions the Lord had shown me (also asked the 2 customers he was serving). None of them had those problems, but he directed me to another employee who he thought had one of the conditions I was asking about. It turned out that this man had pain in both of the places I had gotten the words for - and his lower back (right hand side) was bothering him at that very time. I prayed for that and all the pain left. He had a more uncomfortable condi

Coffee, tea, cigarettes, the Kingdom, and a side of Shuba

Last night, DJ and I had the opportunity to minister to three guys at once. One guy had had an accident and we went after his injuries, but we didn't want to leave them without ministering to them prophetically as well. Now, let me back up for a second. I knew we were going to pray for this guy with a broken leg and, to be honest, I didn't have a lot of faith for the leg. As I was getting ready, I felt the Lord saying," Don't worry about the faith for the leg, DJ has it covered; go after the prophetic." After He told me that, my heart moved from a low form of unbelief to a higher excitement about bringing the Kingdom. Let's face it: not everyone is sick, but everyone can use a little encouragement. As DJ was praying for the leg, I began asking the Lord what He had for these guys around me. For one "AZ,", I got the following words: likes to fix cars, good with hands, and loyal. It s out that the only one of the words that was one from that ba

man with broken leg has kingdom encounter

Tonight Isaac of Ninevah and I were able to meet with a group of Palestinian Muslim men, one of whom had a broken leg that I had met the previous night. When I met this man, I simply gave him my card and asked him, "would you like to get off those crutches and walk normally". At that time, he didn't have any idea where I was coming from. However, the question must have provoked him, because by the time I got home, there was an email from him waiting for me - he wanted to meet me the following night if possible. As we began to talk, we shared testimonies of people who were healed of broken bones and even the incredible cases where God miraculous disolved or removed steel rods/pins from people's bodies. After a while, I was able to lay hand on him and pray for his leg. He began to feel the presence of the Lord in the leg - at one point coldness moving through the area where the bone was broken. During a subsequent time of prayer, I began to feel what God was doing
