and NO, Christmas trees are NOT PAGAN either!
"The Christmas is pagan" crowd comes out in force this time of year and sadly, we many of us have to deal with their claims.
Since the Hebrew Roots/Torahism/Torah Observant false teaching has been on the rise, a lot of their anti-Christmas videos and memes have been getting shared in recent years.
Thankfully, their arguments have been dealt with thoroughly for those who are open to the truth.
I've done two previous blog posts about this issue for those who want to consider the historical realities of how Christmas came to be celebrated on December 25th.

Is Celebrating Christmas on December 25th something that came from paganism? NO. - LINK
One of their common arguments is one I haven't dealt with but deserves to be dealt with here.
The claim: CHRISTMAS TREES HAVE A PAGAN ORIGIN
I'm not sure why I didn't get into this topic before. I guess I wanted to focus upon the origins of Christmas as a Christian holiday and Christmas trees came much later.
But lo and behold, the claim is false like most of their other claims about Christmas. Note: Why did I just say "most of"? Because there are certain traditions that got mixed into Christmas that did come from pagan roots and I think leaving those behind is advised.
But decorating and putting lights on Christmas trees is NOT one of them!
I will post the video below that my church watched last night dealing with the issue of the origin of Christmas trees, but in short they originated with the Protestant Reformer Martin Luther in Germany in the 1500s. At that time, Europe was entirely Christian and it had been hundreds and hundreds of years since it was pagan.
Even then, the claims that Christmas trees came from a Roman pagan cult or are somehow condemned in Jeremiah 10 are historical nonsense and anachronistic.
Here are two videos by Mike Winger that substantiate what I have just said.
"People are still making this stuff up about Christmas Trees" - LINK
"Stop Twisting Jeremiah 10 because It is NOT about Christmas Trees" - LINK
In short, decorate Christmas trees in honor of Christ coming to earth as did Martin Luther and as have believing Christians ever since!
