Is the UFO phenomenon "simply demonic?"

In the summer of 2023, a former US Air Force intelligence officer named David Grusch and 2 others testified under oath before Congress that the US government had been running a secret program to reverse engineer recovered "non-human" craft (UFOs) and was also in possession of bodies, which he called "non-human biologics."

Overnight, the subject of UFOs and aliens went from being a topic for an X-Files episode and fringe conspiracy theorists to the center of the mainstream media. Everybody was reporting on these hearings before Congress at the time. NASA and the Department of Defense denied the claims of the whistleblowers (as expected).

Some Christian voices spoke up at the time, mostly to say that the UFO/alien phenomenon is "simply demonic." The vast majority of pastors said nothing to their churches about this news, and yet millions of Americans were talking about this subject that summer. Christians were asking questions, and sadly, they weren't getting many "informed" answers. Seeker-sensitive churches seeking to be relevant in their communities missed a HUGE opportunity.

And then the news cycle changed, October 7th happened in Israel, and the topic of UFOs seemingly went away as quickly as it has appeared.

But the topic of UFOs (now officially called UAPs) wasn't going away, and is back in the media even this week.

It has just come out that a group of Christian leaders was told by the US government officials in a private briefing to be prepared for the upcoming government disclosure about UAPs and aliens.

"Multiple Pastors Claim U.S. Military Intelligence Officers Secretly Briefed Them To Prepare Their Congregations For UAP Disclosure" - LINK

Some doubt that any such meeting actually took place. The explosion of news in the past 48 hours about such a meeting would seem to indicate that some type of meeting/briefing actually took place. A couple of well-known Christian leaders I've heard claim they were in attendance.

And what is the most common Christian response I have been seeing with regard to this news?

They are saying once again that the UFO/Alien phenomenon is "simply demonic." In other words, whatever the US government is about to tell the American people should be spiritually considered "demonic" which to them means it is not something physical or natural. This is the explanation most Christians will hear.

The topic will probably receive some attention for a week or two and then will once again leave the news cycle; that is, until next month when Steven Spielberg's upcoming movie, Disclosure Day, is released.

Christians aren't the only ones with an explanation. Secular culture has one too as has been portrayed in many Hollywood movies and TV series.

Hollywood's explanation (from Spielberg's 1st film in 1977, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, to his latest one) is the evolutionary one, i.e., life evolved by chance on other planets. Many Christians have accepted (or will accept) a version of this explanation.

Christian leaders will respond to Spielberg's film once again and say, "It is simply demonic."

THIS Christian answer, while being helpful for some, will be problematic for a huge percentage. This answer WILL NOT be a satisfactory answer for what will be disclosed if, in fact, the US Government is in possession of PHYSICAL craft and bodies!

Why? Because something being "demonic" means disembodied, non-physical, not naturally occuring. When Christian leaders say this, they mean that the phenomenon is merely something "supernatural" rather than something natural.

Assuming the meeting mentioned above actually just took place, I think this could very well have been why the group of Christian leaders that were included in that private briefing was called together. In other words, the "it is demonic" explanation is no longer going to cut it.

Most Christians have no theological grid for bodies and craft since they've been and are being told UFOs and aliens are non-physical, supernatural phenomena.

In other words, the theological explanation that Christians currently believe will not be able to explain what will be revealed.

How will we proceed? What will happen?

I predict that many will capitulate to the evolutionary explanation, or a creationist version of it, that God simply created life on other planets. This is the view the Roman Catholic Church seems to have adopted.

Hardcore advocates of the "it is all demonic" view will probably dismiss any evidence as 'man-made' or "AI-Generated." They will simply choose to disbelieve what the government discloses.

Tragically, I believe the faith of many will be seriously damaged. They will have trusted their leaders, and their leaders' "demonic" explanation will not explain what the American people are looking at. Some will probably walk away from their faith.

And all the while, a Biblical explanation will have been present. And not a new one, but actually the most ancient one.

2nd Temple Judaism (516BC-70AD) and the Early Church (until the 4th Century) had a theology that could explain what we are considering in this blog post.

That is because they held to an understanding of Genesis 6:1-4 that considered that the "sons of God" were EMBODIED angelic beings who procreated with the "daughters of men." The offspring of this union were the so-called Nephilim/Giants, who were an EMBODIED hybrid of the union that occurred between the fallen angels and human beings.

Ancient Jews and Christians didn't merely think of the demonic realm as disembodied spirits. Yes, that realm included disembodied spirits. But that realm also included spirits that had some type of embodiment, or to use the technical term, they had a corporeality.

This ancient understanding ends up giving us a much better Biblical explanation to interpret what physical UFO craft and alien bodies could constitute.

We won't have to resort to the atheistic evolutionary paradigm. (or even a theist one). We won't have to deny the supposed physical evidence that the upcoming disclosure is supposedly all about.

That is not to say that there will be complete agreement amongst Christians as to what exactly these "non-human" bodies are. Could they be angelic beings? (and if so, were/are they fallen ones or righteous ones?) Could they be some type of neo-Nephilim hybrid? The point I am making is that there is a historically Christian (and Jewish) way to understand this subject that is more comprehensive and satisfying than saying, "it is all demonic."

Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity held to the historicity of the Enochian narrative, which explains in great detail what happened at the time of Genesis 6. That story includes the fact that the angelic beings who came down to human women, known as Watchers, had advanced technology that they sinfully shared with mankind.

Could something similar have been happening again? Jesus said that as it was in the Days of Noah (the days of Genesis 6), so shall it be in the days of His Return (Matt. 24:37).

The modern UAP phenomenon includes a very similar idea. Non-human entities with advanced non-human technology, according to the government whistleblowers, have been recovered, and attempts to reverse engineer that technology for our government's benefit have been ongoing for decades.

This modern story, in other words, is not new. Something very similar happened long ago. It was the universally held Biblical narrative. Jews and Christians ALL used to believe this ancient story, but many believers today have abandoned that original belief. And consequently, they will have no way to explain the evidence that may soon be released.

Maybe it is time for all Christians to revisit and reconsider the Days of Noah as our Lord instructed.

For such a time as this...
