FEAR Extinguishers (DAY 12) - taking away fear AND praying for others to surrender their lives to Christ

Today we tried something a little bit different.  I felt like yesterday in addition to praying for the things that we have been praying for, I would begin praying things like this, "Lord, we surrender our lives to you at this time, we ask you to forgive us and to fill us now with your Holy Spirit..." - of course, always praying clearly in the Name of Jesus.

And in probably about a 30 minute period today, at 6 different restaurants we had the opportunity once again to pray for at least 30 people - from India, the Philipines, Bhutan and Egypt. At least those are the countries we were aware of.

Some we got to pray for one-on-one, and in once place once again the Lord opened a door to pray for about 12-15 all at once.

A couple of the women my wife prayed for were already committed Christians and she was able to connect them with each other. They worked in restaurants that were next to each other and didn't know that there were any other believers.  One who was new to the country was looking for a church.  The other was a part of a good church. And their housing was in the same area so it was a divine set up to help them find each other, to help one find a church home and for both of them to be encouraged today and to see how they too could minister to others by what my wife modeled to them.

For those that don't know about Bhutan, it is a conservative Tibetan Buddhist nation that is one of the most unreached countries in the world. We have had opportunity after opportunity to pray for and with Bhutanese and it seems like we meet at least one or two each time we go out "Fear Extinguishing" these days. Today, one of them watched as I prayed for his Filipino manager and for the rest of the restaurant crew in general.  And then I met up with him personally a few minutes later and got to pray with him individually.  I prayed that God would protect him and his country and that Jesus would appear to His people and reveal Himself to them.

One Egyptian muslim was very open to receiving prayer.  I prayed for him in Arabic and told him about one of my favorite Egyptian ministers, a Coptic priest named Father Makari in Cairo.  Many videos of him are on YouTube as he prays for people in his services to be healed and to be delivered from demonic bondage.  As I walked away, this man was already "Googling" Father Makari's name to see for himself!

In general today, we tried something a bit new - prayer of surrendering ourselves to Jesus, of turning our lives over to the Lord.  And this is what we will be adding to our often quick ministry visits when we offer to pray for people.  I am well aware that just because we are praying a prayer of confession and surrender to the Lord doesn't mean that some is becoming a Christian...BUT what if they truly believe?...What if they are in fact joining me and "calling on the Name of the Lord"? (Romans 10:13).

We will leave the answers to those questions with the Lord.  But we have a new strategy to apply in our Fear Extinguishing. We will be bold and we will be faithful.

...for such a time as this!
